J. Robert Swidler obtained his Bachelor of Commerce degree from McGill University in 1968, and his Master of Business Administration from Cornell University in 1970.

Bob started his career in 1970 with Touche Ross & Co. /P.S. Ross & Partners in Montreal and was made a partner of the firm in 1975, when he was concurrently named National Director of P.S. Ross’ Executive Search Services and Managing Partner of its Montreal Office.

Bob formed his own executive search firm, J. Robert Swidler Inc. in 1979, with offices in Montreal and Toronto, which grew to become one of Canada’s largest firms prior to its acquisition by Egon Zehnder International in 1989.

From Nov. 1, 1989 to Oct. 31, 2013, when Bob retired from Egon Zehnder, he led the firm in Canada for nineteen years as Managing Partner and for the last five years as Chairman. Revenues grew tenfold during this time and twelve Canadian colleagues were named to the global Partnership.

Bob reestablished his former firm on Nov. 1, 2013 under the name J. Robert Swidler & Associates Inc. and continues to practice senior level executive and Board search. Bob is fluently bilingual.

Bob was Chairman of the Governance Committee of the Board of Governors of Lower Canada College over a six year period. He is a member of the Board of Advisors of the Canadian Club of Montreal and a former vice president of its Board of Directors. He served as a board member of the Montreal General Hospital Foundation from 1990 until June 2017, having been its Chairman from 2003 to 2005. He also was a founding board member of the MUHC Foundation until its restructuring in 2014. Bob joined the McGill Desautels Faculty of Management Advisory Board in April 2002 and was named Chairman of this Board in April 2009, a capacity in which he served until April 2014, when he was named a Lifetime Member of this Board. In November 2013, Bob was named to the Board of the Montreal Symphony Orchestra Foundation.

Senior Consultant

Nancy E. Wells earned a Bachelor of Psychology degree from Western University in 1988 and a Master of Business Administration degree from John Molson School of Business in 1993. She began her career with RBC Royal Bank in the retail bank, moving to commercial loans where she specialized in knowledge-based industries, managing the bank’s Media & Entertainment Quebec portfolio. She joined Groupe TVA in 1998 as General Manager, TVA International where she played a key role in merger & acquisition transactions and divestitures. In 2003 Nancy joined McGill University as Controller for the Desautels Faculty of Management, and until 2012 held several management positions both at Desautels and the Faculty of Medicine.

Nancy is the President of the Board of Directors of NOVA Montreal, she is a board member of the Montreal General Hospital Foundation and is a past board member of the McCord Museum, the Montreal General Hospital Auxiliary, and Youth Employment Services. Nancy is a volunteer interviewer for McGill’s Faculty of Medicine. She is also active in the sporting community as a volunteer in the MRO Hockey Association.

Nancy joined J. Robert Swidler & Associates Inc. on November 1, 2013 as a Senior Consultant and is affiliated exclusively with this firm in conducting her management consulting activities.

Director of Research

Johan Mady holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Library Science from McGill University. She began her career as research assistant for Currie Coopers and Lybrand Management Consultants. Following a short stint with a small Canadian executive search firm, she joined J. Robert Swidler Inc. as Director of Research and stayed with the Montreal office in the same capacity following its acquisition by Egon Zehnder International until 2008. Johan then spent four years as Business Development Manager in the Career Centre of the Desautels Faculty of Management at McGill University and joined J. Robert Swidler & Associates on Nov. 1, 2013 as Director of Research. On the community front, Johan has been active with the Girl Guides of Canada serving initially as a leader and is currently Treasurer for the Montreal West Brownies. She has also served as a member of the Governing Board of Elizabeth Ballantyne School.

Fraser Swidler obtained his Bachelor of Commerce degree from McGill University in 2012, with concentrations in Finance and Entrepreneurship. Fraser first worked in executive search as a summer intern at Egon Zehnder International during the summers of 2008 and 2009. This time was spent learning the business and conducting research for the various assignments that the Montreal office of Egon Zehnder International was working on. Fraser then followed another passion when he switched to the Entertainment industry and worked as a summer intern at Evenko, a division of the Montreal Canadiens Hockey Club. He spent the summers of 2010, 2011 and 2012 booking concerts in the Montreal area, and helping run summer festivals Osheaga and Heavy MTL at Parc Jean-Drapeau.

In November 2013, Fraser joined J. Robert Swidler & Associates, working primarily in research for some of the senior-level executive and board mandates.

Jeff Rosin

Toronto, Ontario Affiliate

Jeff Rosin is recognized as one of Canada’s foremost search professionals, having established a reputation for exceptional quality of search strategy and execution on senior executive and board assignments, as well as C-suite succession.

Mr. Rosin is currently President of Rosin Executive Search, a boutique firm with the ability to serve Canadian clients across the country and abroad.  While a new organization, Mr. Rosin has built his brand and reputation on national work at the highest levels.

Prior to founding Rosin Executive Search, Mr. Rosin was responsible for leading the Canadian practice of Korn Ferry International for almost 15 years.  In total, he was at Korn Ferry for 19 years.

His accomplishments include assisting many of Canada’s premier organizations attract and retain distinctly innovative and enduring leadership.

Mr. Rosin began his financial services career in investment industry with CIBC Wood Gundy and then Prudential-Bache Securities Canada, Ltd., where he was vice president and chief financial officer.  His banking experience was as vice president and chief financial officer of Swiss Bank Corporation (Canada) Ltd.

Mr. Rosin is a member of the board of directors of Maccabi Canada, an organization linking youth and adults with Israel through sports.  Additionally, he is a member of the board of directors of the Institute of Family Enterprise Advisors.

He graduated from the University of Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, South Africa, as a Chartered Accountant after completing a bachelor of commerce degree and a bachelor of accountancy degree.  Mr. Rosin has a Canadian CPA designation through the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants.

Jeremy Shinewald

Boston, Massachusetts Affiliate

Jeremy Shinewald is the Founder/President of mbaMission, a twenty-five member MBA admissions consulting firm, whose consultants have coached thousands of MBA applicants, enabling them to gain acceptance to the world’s top MBA programs (HBS, Stanford GSB, Wharton, etc). By establishing close relationships with each client and carefully meeting each’s needs, Jeremy’ firm has distinguished itself, earning the trust of the world’s two largest test prep firms, which refer their clients exclusively to mbaMission. Jeremy is a voice in the entrepreneurial community, hosting the weekly “Smart People Should Build Things” podcast, produced by CBS Radio, wherein he interviewed eighty start-up CEOs from 2015 to 2016.

Jeremy was one of the youngest members of his MBA class at the University of Virginia's Darden School of Business, wrote a Business Ethics case and was chosen by his peers to be Class Graduation Speaker. Prior to completing his MBA studies, Jeremy was the sole speechwriter for the Ambassador of Israel to the United States, for whom he wrote more than 70 policy addresses.

Jeremy is a past member of the Board of Directors of Venture for America and the Association of International Graduate Admissions Consultants (AIGAC); he has also served as an expert witness on admissions matters for Yale University.

Jeremy graduated with First Class Honors from the University of Manitoba and maintains an active network throughout Canada. In addition to his primary occupation, Jeremy maintains an exclusive affiliation with leading Canadian executive search firm J. Robert Swidler and Associates Inc. for the purpose of conducting CEO-level searches in the greater Boston and New York areas, where he currently resides and maintains offices.
